SafeHalo's founding technology was developed to address one of the most dangerous forms of distraction in modern life: phone use while driving. Our patented system uses proximity detection and device management protocols to automatically restrict phone functionality when a user enters a high-risk zone — a moving vehicle, a construction site, or a classroom.
The same principles that make roads safer are now making classrooms calmer. We adapted the core architecture — beacon-triggered, consent-managed, parent-controlled device restriction — to meet the specific needs of the school environment, including timetable-aware restrictions, school-defined app whitelists, and PIPEDA-compliant data handling for minors.
